About Ikan Bakar Bulog Baru

I want to put you onto a spot in Batam that locals casually recommend when grilled seafood comes up: Ikan Bakar Bulog Baru. Tucked inside Tempat Makan Kopitiam at Batam Centre, this restaurant sits along Jl. Raja H. Fisabilillah No.8 in Teluk Tering, making it easy to reach whether you’re near offices, the ferry terminal, or just roaming Batam Kota hungry. The vibe is relaxed and no-frills, the kind of restaurant where the aroma of charcoal hits before the menu does, and where conversations flow easily over plates meant to be shared.

What draws people back to Ikan Bakar Bulog Baru is the straightforward promise of well-grilled fish done right. The focus stays on halal food prepared with familiar Indonesian flavors, so the seasoning feels confident without being loud. You’ll notice how the smoky char balances with savory marinades, while the sides and sambal quietly do their job of rounding everything out. It’s the type of place where you don’t overthink your order, because most choices land safely in the comfort zone.

I also like how flexible the service options are. If you’re in a rush, takeaway works smoothly, and delivery makes sense for busy evenings when you want something satisfying without leaving home. Dine-in, though, is where the atmosphere shines, especially when the restaurant hums later into the night and late-night food becomes part of the appeal. Pairing your meal with coffee feels natural here, whether you’re winding down after a long day or extending a casual meet-up.

Introducing friends to Ikan Bakar Bulog Baru usually comes with a simple explanation: it’s a reliable grilled seafood spot with personality, located in a familiar Kopitiam setting, and built around flavors that don’t try too hard yet still feel memorable. For visitors and regulars alike, the location in Batam Centre keeps it practical, while the easygoing restaurant vibe encourages spontaneous stops, quick meals, and unplanned catch-ups that stretch comfortably past dinner hours.

The bbq aroma is very tantalizing, and the sambal belacan in really elevate the taste.

We had grilled sardines along with broccoli and other veggies. They are amazing! Worth to get a second order. The sardines served with chilli sambal which is hot enough for my pallet, and you can balance it by adding some sweet soy sauce. It also comes with extra seasonings that they use to grill the fish. I recommend y'all to ask the staff for extra seasoning. For the drink, I would pair the meal with teh obeng or teh Tarik. The place is actually easy to find which sitting at the side of the road among other seafood restaurants. When it comes to price I gotta admit it's a bit pricy and you will need to consider the value for the meals.

One of my favorite in Batam. Saba Grill Very delicious. Everytime I travel to Batam, I must come to enjoy Saba Grill from Bulog Bang Hamid. Now the location is at Teman Makan Kopitiam, Teluk Tering, Batam

First time invited by local friends to this place. Actually it's located very near to another BBQ fish that just had it about 2 months ago. BBQ fish taste very fresh. The chili provided also unique and very spicy. Broccoli taste good. Not forgetting the BBG eggplant, good. Only thing not that tasty is the ayam goreng bawang, too much flour coating outside, even it coated the garlic. Overall good place for dinner.
